I stayed here week ago i had the kitchen suite wasn't till the third day when I went to the kitchen for a drink I turned on the lights and there where cockroches running on the counter top and back down the drain , went and told the receptionist she was nice and apologized and was going to inform management who would get back to me , and nothing to this day . I was very disappointed in management for not doing there job or taking 2 mins to call just to say sorry or ask if I want another room not 1 word . And yes I do have a pic and video. If u plan on staying there I recommend filling up the sink and plugging the bathtub and sink as well .all it takes is a phone call thats all

At 8am I was woke up by extreme drilling noise that went on for hours . They say were doing renos but why allow the work to start that early It's now 830 on day 2 and there's banging not as loud day one cuz I was changed rooms but loud enough wake up dead sleep and annoying enough that I can't go back to sleep I've stayed here multiple times but will never come back and never suggest this place to anyone and lady at front desk I showed her videos of extreme noise she just says I told u about the renos at check in okay you did but at 8am extreme noise you didn't say that I was to be put lower floor and get extra day or something to make up for wrecking my trip they did move me guess what it's 830 and there so much noise coming from roof that drowns davie street noise out which crazy to think . How this handled is joke I asked talk to gm nope they wouldn't do it . The thing is you should enjoy your stay when your on holidays right no where does it say renos till you check in after you already prepaid so I couldn't cancel if I wanted now I'm getting out this joke of hotel and going somewhere quite. And I expect the manager to apologize on Herr like they always do they say will try harder next time well no you won't you don't care about the customers clearly buy not shutting place down while your replacing every unit. As I write this I'm getting more mad cuz banging is so loud now . SO DO NOT STAY HERE TILL RENOS ARE DONE THE PLACE IS A GOOD HOTEL FOR CONVENIENCE AND ITS GOT COMFY BEDS AND GOOD VIEW FAST ELEVATORS BUT RENOS WILL WRECK YOUR STAY. PS FOR YOU SANDMAN YOU DIDNT DO ANYTHING HELP ME YOU MOVED ME TO ANOTHER ROOM WHERE THE NOISE IS STILL LOUD IM BEGINNING TO THINK YOU HEAR THIS NOISE NO MATTER WHAT FLOOR YOUR ON SO DONT MATTER . Great base. Although we stayed in a tired/dated room it was a quiet and a comfy bed. Excellent location to explore all of downtown. The view from the balcony was amazing with sunsets/night view and view of grouse mountain. Would stay again if we are lucky enough to be able to return to this incredible city. Think it will be amazing when update is finished.

Booked this hotel for a long weekend and a Monday night concert. The location and views are great but that’s where it ended. I book hotels for location and amenities with having a gym or fitness center being number one. Upon check in was a sign that the gym was closed and was closed during our stay. They did offer to allow us access to a sister property gym but that was a drive away and we were on foot. The room looked to be last updated in the 80s, dirty stained carpeting that carried into the dark hallways. The bathroom was difficult to use so to how small it is. Elevators took a very long time and were often filled with other guest so one needs to wait for another elevator that’s not full. Was too cold during our stay to use the outdoor pool, not hot tub available and the sauna was also not working. We were woken before 8 am Tuesday to extremely loud pounding and drilling in the building. Spoke with other guest who were also upset and woken by this. Perhaps when they finish their renovations this hotel will be a good stay by until then I do not recommend.

Great Place to Stay - Very Central to all facilities such as bars, supermarkets, bottle shops and bus to the city CBD and to Canada Place. The building was being renovated but did not hearing any noise at all from the works. Staff were excellent and offered excellent customer service.
